About MURAGO HUKE

Ethiopia's Finest Specialty Coffee Exporter

Our Story & Heritage

Murago Huke Specialty Coffee operates under an authentic, asset-backed farmer-exporter business model. This structural model bridges the gap between our rich agricultural heritage and global green coffee buyers, ensuring exceptional traceability. Our production is deeply rooted in our family's ancestral land situated in the world-renowned highlands of Bensa, Sidama.

This farmland holds immense historical and personal value, having been preserved and passed down directly through our late father's inheritance. Today, we honor his legacy by cultivating elite micro-lots at an astonishing elevation of over 2,380+ meters above sea level.

By operating directly, we bypass traditional multi-tiered broker channels. This vertical integration allows us to offer international roasters unmatched quality control, clean cup profiles, uniform drying metrics, and absolute transparency from seed to shipment.

Our coffees are grown at elevations ideal for developing the complex, fruity, and floral profiles that Sidama coffees are known for. Murago Coffee is fully certified by the Ethiopian Coffee and Tea Authority, and we adhere to rigorous quality and export standards. These coffees are carefully harvested, processed, and prepared for international export-ready to meet the high demands of global roasters, importers, and specialty buyers. Whether you're seeking unique micr-olots or reliable bulk volumes, Murago Coffee is your trusted partner for premium Ethiopian coffee. We are dedicated to promoting sustainable practices, empowering farming communities, and sharing the rich flavors of Sidama with the world-one cup at a time.

The micro-lot of Murago Huke

Deep within the Bensa Daye district, tucked into the micro-climate of the Murago Kebele, lies our exceptional high-altitude estate. Growing at extreme elevations exceeding 2,380 meters above sea level, our coffee trees develop slowly, packing dense, complex sugars into every single cherry.

We cultivate the distinct 74158 variety, a selection celebrated for its striking floral clarity, vivid citrus acidity, and rich stone-fruit complexity. By operating as farmer-exporters, we guarantee roasters and importers absolute lot integrity, complete logistical transparency, and fair direct-trade parameters.

Our Natural Processing Method

Quality begins with precision harvesting. Only perfectly ripe, uniform crimson cherries are hand-picked across our estate. We dry our coffee naturally on raised African bamboo beds under the pristine high-altitude sun of Bensa.

The slow, meticulous drying process takes between 15 to 21 days, during which the seeds absorb the sweet fruit properties of the mucilage. Constant hand-turning ensures immaculate consistency, eliminating defects long before milling, resulting in an incredibly clean, vibrant cup profile that meets global specialty coffee standards.

Our Mission

We are dedicated to producing exceptional, micro-lot specialty coffees through meticulous high-altitude farming, organic practices, and strict quality control. By blending traditional Sidama heritage with modern processing, we connect discerning global roasters with the pure, traceable essence of Murago coffee while ensuring fair livelihoods for our local day-laborers and neighbors.

To bring the unmatched, high-altitude flavors of Murago coffee to the forefront of the global specialty coffee market, creating a sustainable legacy that honors our land and uplifts our community.
